2018 Genesis Model Year Changes
As we get new information on all of the 2018 Genesises, this article will be updated. So bookmark it!
G80
Only in its first year (for the whole company) the G80 gets a new powertrain option. Between the base 3.8 V6 and the 5.0 V8, the 3.3T turbocharged DOHC V6 from the G90 3.3T goes into the G80 3.3T Sport. The 3.3T Sport also has a continuously variable suspension to allow better handling or better ride.
Also new, the 5.0 V8 can now be had with all-wheel-drive. Since this setup has been available in the G90, it wasn't much of a trick.
Driver Attention Alert is now offered, standard. It uses the lane departure warning system to determine if it's likely that the driver is drowsey by how well he stays in the middle of his lane.
G90
A CD player, missing last year, is now standard in the glovebox. Next year, a cassette tape deck will be installed in the trunk, and by 2020, all Genesis will have 8-track decks in the engine compartment, under the battery. LED headlights, still standard on 5.0, now also standard on 3.3T.
