WRX
EyeSight® safety systems come to the WRX: Adaptive Cruise Control that will keep a consistent following distance automatically, collision warning, pre-collision braking, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist are optional on WRX Limited with the CVT (automatic) transmission. Blind spot warning and rear cross traffic detection (warns you if traffic is coming towards you while you back out of a parking spot) are optional on WRX Limited and standard on WRX STI Limited. Since some of the safety goodies are only available with automatic transmission, the STI loses out. The WRX Limited with CVT also gets a new electronic parking brake. Subaru STARLINK™ is now offered, standard on all models. It allows you to integrate your smartphone into the vehicle touch-screen for easier use. Reading texts and playing internet music are two of its functions. Pin code access (where you tap a code in using the touch sensor on the door handle) is now included with the optional keyless hands-free entry on WRX Limited and STI. The high-performance 245/40R18 tires standard on STI now also come on WRX Premium and Limited, but with different wheels. They also get the STI's inverted struts. For people who want the ultimate in performance but don't want to look like an extra on Fast and Furious 17.5, the WRX STI Limited can be optioned with a low-profile spoiler similar to the one on the WRX instead of the huge trunk handle that usually comes on the STI.
